Great looking, good value car that undercuts the Golf on price yet you can have looks of the same car shape up to 2003.

Expensive if goes badly wrong.. saying that it doesn't go badly wrong.

This is a car that is more understated than most yet gets respectful glances from friends and neighbours alike. Internal quality is excellent (typical Audi soft touch plastics etc.). That engine does need to be kept within the right powerband to perform at it's best. However, you could easily plod along and save the fuel by not bating the turbo. They now are around £3k which is an absolute bargain with glacial depreciation likely over the next 3-5 years. Buy now if with service history and MOT. Mileage not such an issue.
